In 2014, I experienced a sharp pain on my right side. It was pretty serious, so I decided to go to the hospital. I was diagnosed with appendicitis, and had surgery right away. The doctor also said let’s do some labs results. We sent it and are waiting. In the meantime, the appendicitis was a common procedure, and everything was fine. I was still recover with pain killers, in my apartment. The lab results came back showing that I had two rare blood clotting disorders, Factor V Leiden and Protein S deficiency.
All of a sudden the pain was even worse in my left leg, so back to the hospital. There was a massive blood clot, in my foot, all the way to the knee. They told me I may have to take the blood thinners for life, or six months.
I had shots in the stomach and took blood thinners. Every two weeks I went to the nurse to check my levels. The warfarin took a toll on my body. I was excited that I may be able to stop taking it after 6 months, which after a period of time the doctor determined that would be okay.
In 2015, I was entrenched in a work hard, play hard lifestyle. Apprentice wireman by day, rockstar by night and everything that entailed. Everything changed on June 4, 2017.
Stay tuned for part 2…
